Boat Capsizing in Democratic Republic of Congo Claims 25 Lives

Local sources reported that at least 25 people, including children, have died after an overcrowded boat capsized on a river in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The vessel, carrying over 100 passengers, departed from Inongo, northeast of the capital Kinshasa, but capsized just a few hundred meters into its journey along the Fimi River on Tuesday.

Dozens are still missing as reliance on river transport increases due to security issues and poor infrastructure.
