The Esports World Cup Foundation announced on Wednesday its collaboration with the platform “Chess.com” to add digital chess competitions to the 2025 edition.
Chess legend Magnus Carlsen will participate as the global ambassador for the game, enhancing its worldwide presence.
The Chess “CCT” Champions Tour will serve as the main qualifier for the tournament, with total prizes reaching $300,000.
Final qualifiers for both amateur and professional players will be held in Riyadh, offering them the chance to compete in the largest esports event in the world.
These efforts are part of ongoing initiatives to expand the chess fan base and integrate it into the esports world through exciting competitions and massive prizes.
