The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has expressed its readiness to assist Syria with its reconstruction efforts. Julie Kozak, an IMF spokesperson, made this announcement during a press conference on Thursday.
She noted that the fund will collaborate with the international community despite Syria’s security and economic challenges.
Kozak mentioned that there has been no communication with Syrian authorities since 2009. She also stated that it is too early to conduct an economic assessment. The IMF will monitor the situation and provide support when conditions improve.
