A car drove into a group of people at a Christmas market in the city of Magdeburg, eastern Germany, resulting in injuries to between 60 and 80 individuals.

Government sources in Saxony-Anhalt reported that authorities have arrested the driver involved in the incident.

Magdeburg, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt, is located about 150 kilometers west of Berlin and has a population of approximately 240,000 residents.
