Qatari Energy Minister, Saad Al-Kaabi, confirmed in a statement to the Financial Times that Qatar will stop gas supplies to the European Union if laws related to forced labor and environmental impact are enacted.

Al-Kaabi explained that these laws could lead to a loss of 5% of the country’s revenues, adding that Qatar cannot bear such a loss.

He also emphasized the need for the European Union to reconsider these laws.
