The French presidency announced today that the unveiling of the new government, led by François Bayrou, will be delayed until 17:00 GMT, coinciding with a national day of mourning in solidarity with the Mayotte archipelago, which was hit by Cyclone Shidou.
On this occasion, President Macron will observe a minute of silence at 10:30 GMT at the Élysée Palace.
The delay follows intensive negotiations between Macron and Bayrou, who continues to form a government that includes representatives from various political factions to address budgetary challenges, despite difficulties in convincing the left-wing camp to participate.
