A massive oil spill in the Black Sea has posed a serious threat to wildlife, prompting urgent international intervention.
Approximately 10,000 people, including volunteers, have participated in efforts to clean up the beaches contaminated with “heavy fuel oil,” with authorities reporting the death of over 200 birds and around 20 dolphins.
The disaster affected 60 kilometers of coastline since December 15, when the tanker “Volgoneft-212” ran aground during a storm, resulting in significant damage.
