A Taliban official stated on Wednesday that Pakistani airstrikes in eastern Afghanistan resulted in the deaths of 46 people, most of whom were women and children.

The Taliban government condemned the attack and vowed to seek revenge, noting that most of the victims were refugees from the Waziristan region.

In contrast, Pakistani security officials claimed that the purpose of the strikes was to dismantle a training facility and eliminate militants.
