Kilauea volcano in Hawaii experienced a sudden surge of activity on Wednesday, with lava fountains erupting into the air.

Kilauea is considered one of the most active volcanoes in the world and had similar eruptions on Monday and Tuesday.

The volcanic activity began early on Monday when fissures opened in the caldera floor, causing lava to rise 90 meters and spread over an area of 263 hectares.
