Protests in Georgia Intensify as President Joins Demonstrators

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili joined thousands of protesters in the streets just two days before the elected president, Mikheil Kavalashvili, is set to take office.

Zourabichvili confirmed that she will not step down from her position on Monday, indicating her intention to contest the results of the parliamentary elections held in October, which she described as “fraudulent” due to Russian interference.

She called for “new elections to restore the people’s trust in the democratic process.”
