Putin Apologizes to Azerbaijan for Plane Crash Incident

Russian President Vladimir Putin apologized to Azerbaijani President on Saturday for the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Kazakhstan, which resulted in 38 fatalities and 29 survivors.

Putin expressed his “deepest condolences” to the victims’ families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The Kremlin reported that the plane was attacked by Ukrainian drones while attempting to land in Grozny, prompting a response from Russian air defense. It also confirmed that a “criminal investigation will be opened” regarding the incident.
