Biden announces a $2.5 billion security aid package for Ukraine

As part of support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression, the United States announced a new $2.5 billion security aid package on Monday.
This aid comes at a sensitive time, as Washington seeks to provide Kyiv with all possible support before the inauguration of the next U.S. president, Donald Trump, next month.
U.S. President Joe Biden said in a statement: “Today, I am announcing the provision of $2.5 billion in security assistance to Ukraine, at a time when the Ukrainian people are striving to defend their independence and freedom against Russian aggression.
