Starting from January 2025, WhatsApp will stop supporting many older smartphones, affecting devices running on outdated operating systems, including some Android and iPhone models.

According to Meta, the app will no longer work on Android devices running KitKat or earlier versions. However, users with devices that support system updates to newer versions will still be able to use the app.
