Authorities in South Korea have filed a request for an arrest warrant for ousted President Yoon Suk-yeol on charges of rebellion and abuse of power, following his declaration of martial law on December 3.

His lawyer has challenged the legality of the warrant, questioning the authority of the Anti-Corruption Agency to investigate rebellion cases.

The request came after Yoon refused to respond to summonses from the investigation team.
