An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck the province of Jujuy in Argentina today.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the quake struck 101 kilometres from the town of El Aguilar at a depth of 205.6 kilometres.
There were no reports of human or material losses as a result of the earthquake.
A previous earthquake, measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, struck Argentina’s Salta province last October without causing any human or material losses.
