Qatar Airways Resumes Flights to Damascus After 13 Years of Suspension

Qatar Airways announced today, Thursday, that it will resume flights to Damascus starting from January 7th, after a hiatus of approximately 13 years due to the conflict in Syria.
The national carrier of Qatar stated in a press release that it will operate three weekly flights to the Syrian capital, describing the move as a significant milestone in reconnecting the region.
This comes about a month after the fall of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, according to foreign media sources.
