Tunisia: 27 migrants die and 83 rescued after two boats sink off Sfax province

Twenty-seven bodies of sub-Saharan African migrants have been recovered and 83 others rescued after two boats sank off the Tunisian coast while trying to reach Europe, a civil protection official in Tunisia said on Thursday.

Among the 27 bodies recovered off the coast of Qarkana (east) are women and children,’ Ziad Sidiri, regional director of civil protection in the province of Sfax, told AFP.
