South Korean investigators today Friday suspended the execution of an arrest warrant issued by the judiciary for ousted president Yun Suk-yol to question him about his failed attempt to impose martial law in the country a month ago, after presidential security prevented them from doing so, according to AFP.
Regarding the execution of the arrest warrant today, it was determined that it was impossible to execute it on the spot due to the ongoing confrontation,’ the Senior Officials Corruption Investigation Office (SOCIO) said in a statement.
The office had announced that ‘the execution of the arrest warrant issued for President Yoon Suk-yeol has begun’.
Yonhap news agency reported that investigators who entered the presidential residence were not immediately able to arrest the ousted president as they were repelled by a military unit inside.
