Intense clashes erupted between Turkish-backed factions and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the countryside of Manbij, northern Syria, resulting in over 100 deaths over two days, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The total death toll reached 101, including 85 from Turkish-backed factions and 16 from the SDF. The fighting concentrated in the southern and southeastern areas of Manbij.
Despite the announcement of a ceasefire between the two sides, clashes continue, further complicating the military and political situation in northern Syria.
