Libyan Parliament Calls for Explanation on Delay in Relocating Oil Authority to Benghazi

The President of the Libyan Parliament, Aguila Saleh, requested today during a session in Benghazi that the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Farhat Bengdara, explain why the decision to move the corporation’s headquarters from Tripoli to Benghazi has not been implemented.
The decision, No. 247, was issued in 2013 by former Prime Minister Ali Zidan. It aimed to promote decentralization and ensure fair distribution of state institutions across regions.
However, the decision has not been executed after 11 years, despite the removal of Gaddafi’s regime.
