Ten Sudanese civilians have been killed and more than 30 injured in an army airstrike south of Khartoum, according to volunteer medics.
The region’s emergency room, part of a nationwide network of volunteers coordinating frontline aid, said Sunday’s strike “targeted the South Belt fuel station for the third time in less than a month.”
The group said the dead were burned to death and five of the 30 wounded were in critical condition with first-degree burns.
Some of the injured and charred bodies were taken to Bashaer Hospital, four kilometers from the bombing site, according to Reuters.
Since April 2023, the war between the Sudanese regular army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has killed tens of thousands of people. In the capital alone, 26,000 people were killed between April 2023 and June 2024.
