The Baku Serious Crimes Court has commenced the trial of French citizen Martin Ryan, who is accused of espionage, alongside an Azerbaijani defendant facing charges of treason.

At the beginning of the session, the judge announced that Martin Ryan could face a prison sentence of 10 to 15 years under Article 276 of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, the second defendant, Azad Mammadli, faces a sentence ranging from 15 years to life imprisonment under Article 274 (treason) of the Penal Code.
