China successfully launched an experimental satellite into space on Tuesday aboard a Long March-3B rocket.
The satellite (Shijian-25) was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China on its first mission in 2025, and later sent the payload to its designated orbit.
According to the People’s Daily Online, the satellite will mainly be used to verify satellite refueling technologies and satellite life extension services, according to the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, the developer of Xijian-25.
The launch marks the 555th mission of the Long March series of launch vehicles.
