French health authorities have announced the first case of a new strain of the monkeypox virus, which spread in Central Africa last year.

The strain, known as “Clade 1b,” has raised global concern due to its rapid spread.

According to the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, this strain belongs to group 1, which is considered more dangerous than group 2, responsible for the global outbreak of the virus in 2022.
