Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Tuesday called for a plenary session of parliament on Thursday to elect a president.

Since former President Michel Aoun’s term expired at the end of October 2022, the Lebanese parliament has failed 12 times to elect a president as no party has a clear majority in parliament to put forward its presidential candidate.
