South Sudan resumes crude oil production at 90,000 barrels per day

South Sudan’s Minister of Petroleum, Puot Kang Chol, stated that the country will resume oil production in blocks 3 and 7 today, Wednesday, with an initial output of 90,000 barrels per day.
South Sudan’s economy has been affected in recent years due to sectarian violence and disruptions in oil exports caused by the war in Sudan.
Chol clarified that the resumption of production will be gradual, targeting 90,000 barrels per day initially. He also mentioned an agreement with Petronas to settle the value of its shares after the company’s exit from the country.
