Thailand Issues Arrest Warrant for Suspect in Assassination of Cambodian Opposition Politician

The police in Thailand have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect believed to be involved in the assassination of Cambodian opposition politician Lim Kimya in a shooting attack in central Bangkok on Tuesday.

The head of the Bangkok police stated that initial investigations suggest the gunman was hired to carry out the assassination.
Lim Kimya, a former member of the Cambodian National Assembly with the exiled Cambodia National Rescue Party, was killed shortly after arriving in Thailand.

Despite former Prime Minister Hun Sen’s threats to make the lives of opposition lawmakers “a living hell,” Lim Kimya (74 years old) refused to flee Cambodia.
