Moroccan Ministry of Tourism revealed today, Thursday, that the country has achieved a record number of incoming tourists for 2024, reaching 17.4 million visitors, a 20% increase compared to the previous year.
Tourism is one of the vital sectors in Morocco’s economy, contributing about 7% to the GDP.
The ministry expects the sector to continue growing, reaching 26 million tourists by 2030, as part of preparations to host the FIFA World Cup in collaboration with Spain and Portugal.
This improvement reflects Morocco’s strategic commitment to developing its tourism infrastructure and enhancing its global appeal by diversifying its tourist offerings and opening new markets, reinforcing its position as a primary destination for tourists worldwide.
