The U.S. Department of State has imposed the most severe sanctions on the Russian oil and gas sectors, targeting eight individuals and entities linked to oil production and export. The United States also sanctioned over 180 oil tankers.
An American official confirmed that the sanctions could cost Russia billions of dollars monthly, representing a significant economic burden. Nevertheless, the White House anticipates a limited impact on the global oil market.
Meanwhile, the British government announced the inclusion of Gazprom and Surgutneftegas, the two Russian oil giants, in its sanctions list.
