The Syrian Civil Defense announced today, Friday, that three people were killed and several injuries were reported in a trampling incident inside the Umayyad Mosque in the capital, Damascus.

The Civil Defense clarified that the incident resulted in the deaths of three women and injuries to five children with fractures and severe bruises, in addition to cases of fainting.

The incident occurred amid heavy congestion due to an event organized by civilians inside the mosque.
