After a 6-year hiatus, China and the UK resumed their economic and financial talks on Saturday during the visit of UK Treasury Secretary Rachel Reeves to Beijing.
The meeting aims to reinvigorate economic ties between the two countries, with Reeves meeting senior Chinese officials, including Vice Premier He Lifeng.
The talks had been suspended since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and deteriorating relations. Both sides now hope to remove barriers faced by British companies in accessing the Chinese market.
