Pakistan’s authorities announced today, Monday, that rescue teams have recovered the bodies of 11 miners from a coal mine that collapsed last week in the Balochistan region due to a methane gas explosion.
Authorities also confirmed that the search is ongoing for the twelfth missing worker. In a separate incident, two more miners were killed in another mine collapse in the Harni area.
Pakistan’s mining sector faces significant challenges due to the neglect of safety standards, leading to frequent deadly accidents.
