The Syrian News Agency (SANA) announced on Monday that the Immigration and Passports Department has resumed work and started issuing passports to citizens.
The Immigration Department (under the Ministry of Interior) has announced the completion of the printing of passports that were in the process of being printed and their postponement to new dates,” the agency said in a post on its “X” platform.
Walid Orabi, the official in charge of the Immigration and Passports Department in Syria, said on Sunday that the department had begun printing the backlog of passports that were in process when the Assad regime fell.
In press statements, he added that they had reactivated the working network of the administration and its branches after it was suspended due to a fire that broke out at the headquarters in Damascus on the day of the fall of the regime.
