China welcomed a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and vowed to make ‘continuous efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East’.

We also sincerely hope that relevant parties will take the Gaza ceasefire as an opportunity to work to ease regional tensions,’ Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiaqun told a regular news briefing, according to AFP.

On Wednesday, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani announced that a ceasefire agreement had been officially reached in Gaza.
