The Elysee Palace announced that France will hold a conference on Syria on February 13, following a phone call between Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which they discussed the Syrian situation and reaffirmed their commitment to political transition.
In this context, the French Foreign Minister noted that lifting sanctions and providing aid to Syria depends on commitments from Damascus.
Meanwhile, Riyadh hosted a meeting to discuss the Syrian file with the participation of 17 countries, where the Gulf Cooperation Council expressed its support for Syria, and EU Foreign Minister Kaja Kallas announced that EU foreign ministers will discuss lifting sanctions next month.
