TikTok to Resume Operations in the U.S. on Trump’s First Day in Office

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced that he will issue a decision on his first day in office to allow the operation of the “TikTok” app in the United States. He expressed hope that the U.S. would hold a 50% stake in the app through a joint venture.
TikTok, owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, had ceased operations in the U.S. after a law was enacted banning its use due to concerns over the potential misuse of data.
Trump had previously stated that he would give TikTok a 90-day grace period after taking office to find a solution, a promise the company referred to in a notice to its users.
