The Turkish government announced on Monday the reopening of its Consulate General in the northwestern Syrian province of Aleppo after a 12-year closure due to events in Syria.
The move marks a turning point in Turkish-Syrian relations and comes in the context of recent regional developments and efforts to improve bilateral relations between the two countries.
The opening of the Turkish consulate in Aleppo comes more than a month after the opening of the Turkish embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus, following the fall of the Assad regime.
The Turkish embassy in Damascus officially started its work on 14.12.2024 and the Turkish flag was raised on the embassy after 12 years of closure.
