10 dead and 32 injured in hotel fire in north-west Turkey

A fire broke out at a hotel in a popular Turkish ski resort in the northwestern province of Bolu on Tuesday, killing 10 people and injuring 32, the interior minister said.

The fire broke out at the hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort at 00:27 GMT, Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on X-platform, according to AFP.
The fire, which broke out in the Kartalkaya ski resort, started in the restaurant area of the hotel and soon engulfed the entire building, Turkey Today newspaper said, noting that emergency teams including firefighters and paramedics had been sent to the scene.

The newspaper quoted Abdul Aziz Aydin, the governor of Bolu, as saying that the cause of the fire was not yet clear.

Guests were immediately evacuated while efforts continue to control the fire and investigate its cause.
