Chad: Constitutional Council confirms ruling party victory in parliamentary elections

Chad’s Constitutional Council has confirmed the victory of the ruling National Salvation Movement (MSN) party in December’s legislative elections, the first to be held in the country since 2011.
Announcing the list of elected deputies during an official session, Constitutional Council President Jean-Bernard Badari said the MNS party had won an overwhelming majority of 124 out of 188 seats, noting that more than a third of the deputies (64 seats or 34 per cent)
