US President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced a massive artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure project led by Japan’s SoftBank Group, Oracle and ChatGPT.
The project, called Stargate, will “invest at least $500 billion in artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States,” Trump said in remarks at the White House. SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son and his OpenAI counterparts Sam Altman and Oracle’s Larry Ellison joined Trump at the White House to launch the project.
