Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has confirmed that Russia is ready for an equal dialogue with the United States and that Moscow is waiting for signals from Washington but has not received any yet.
This was in response to statements by US President Donald Trump, who said on Wednesday that he did not want to hurt Russia, called for an end to the special military operation in Ukraine, and threatened to impose new sanctions and tariffs on all Russian exports to the United States in case of non-compliance.
Asked how the Kremlin assessed Trump’s new statements on sanctions policy towards Moscow, Peskov told reporters: “We carefully monitor all rhetoric and statements. We carefully follow all the details and we remain ready for dialogue, as President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said, an equal and respectful dialogue,’ Peskov told reporters.
