India: Explosion at Ammunition Factory Results in 8 Deaths and 7 Injuries

Eight people were killed and seven others injured in an explosion at an ammunition factory in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, according to Federal Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday.

The explosion occurred at a factory located in the Bhandara district, approximately 830 kilometers from Mumbai.

Gadkari explained that the incident led to the collapse of the factory’s roof, with an estimated 13 to 14 workers potentially trapped inside. Five people have been rescued, while the cause of the explosion remains unclear.
