It has been reported that security forces in Tunis’s capital successfully eliminated an individual who attempted to storm the Jewish synagogue on Avenue de la Liberté in the Lafayette area with a sharp weapon, attacking the security personnel assigned to protect the site.

Local media stated that the man set himself on fire when surrounded by security forces, which led to them shooting him dead after he refused to back down.

Activists also noted that a civilian was accidentally injured by gunfire, while the motives behind the attack remain unclear.
