Trump declassifies files related to assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King

US President Donald Trump on Thursday ordered the declassification of US government files related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 and his brother Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, as well as the assassination of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in the same year.

Trump told reporters as he signed the order in the Oval Office of the White House: “A lot of people have been waiting for this for years, for decades. Everything will be revealed.

Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, who shot him as his motorcade passed through Dallas on 22 November 1963, a momentous event that shocked the United States and the world and led to the emergence of endless conspiracy theories.
