Putin ‘ready for negotiations’ with Trump on Ukraine war

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a television interview on Friday that he was ready to meet with US President Donald Trump, suggesting that Moscow was open to working with Washington to end the war in Ukraine.

Putin’s response comes after US President Donald Trump called for an immediate end to the conflict in Ukraine, while warning of the potential negative consequences of prolonging the fight with Russia.

Putin added in the television interview reported by RIA Novosti that Russia has many points of contact with the new US administration led by Donald Trump, including economic issues.

Putin also said that Russia and the United States have a lot in common on the energy file.

Putin explained that it was Joe Biden’s administration that broke off contacts with Russia.
