The African Heads of State Summit on Energy kicked off on Tuesday in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The summit aims to promote the ‘Mission 300’ initiative, which aims to provide energy to 300 million people in Africa by 2030, helping to overcome the energy crisis affecting 600 million Africans.
The Summit will bring together Heads of State and Government, regional and international banks, international partners, private institutions, energy experts, civil society organisations and academia to discuss solutions for achieving secure and reliable energy access and an inclusive and sustainable energy transition.
The Summit will culminate in the signing of the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration, in which African leaders commit to expanding energy access, promoting the use of renewable energy and catalysing private investment.
