Five engineers told Reuters on Tuesday that protesters have blocked oil tanker loading at Libya’s Sidra and Ras Lanuf ports.
The protesters, in a statement to the National Oil Corporation, demanded the relocation of several oil company headquarters to the Oil Crescent region, reiterating their call for equitable development to improve living conditions in their area.
Previous protests have disrupted oil operations, with last year’s protests halting production at the Sharara oil field.
The National Oil Corporation announced earlier this January an increase in crude oil production, reaching 1,417,382 barrels per day last year.
