Ahmed al-Shara, the head of the transitional phase in Syria, stated on Thursday evening that his country “extends a hand of peace to everyone,” emphasizing the necessity of everyone’s participation in the political process.
In a televised speech, al-Shara confirmed that “Syria has been liberated from a criminal regime” and that he will work to restore Syria’s lost identity.
He announced the formation of a preparatory committee for the national dialogue conference, focusing on building an inclusive transitional government.
Al-Shara also pledged to combat corruption and achieve civil peace following his appointment as president during the transitional phase after the ousting of Bashar al-Assad.
