Meta Agrees to Pay $25 Million to Settle Trump Lawsuit Following Account Suspension

Meta has agreed to pay $25 million to settle a lawsuit filed by former President Donald Trump after the company suspended his accounts in January 2021 following the Capitol attack.

According to informed sources, the settlement allocates $22 million to the nonprofit organization that will become Trump’s future presidential library, while the remaining amount will cover legal fees.

This settlement comes at a sensitive time for Meta, as it seeks to rebuild relations with the Trump administration amid meetings between the former president and executives of several major tech companies.

Meta also announced a $1 million donation to Trump’s inauguration committee.
