The Somali army carried out a military operation on Wednesday in the Hiran region, central Somalia, resulting in the elimination of 16 Al-Shabaab militants, with support from local forces.
The army confirmed that operations will continue to reclaim strategic areas and ensure security and stability, as part of its ongoing campaign against the group in central and southern Somalia.
